Grandma's Yummy Bread

About a month ago, I decided I could save a little money by making bread. I found it hard to spend $3-$4 a loaf for a good wheat bread. My mother has made bread for as long as I can remember. Growing up it was a treat if she bought a loaf of white Wonder Bread. Today it is a treat when she brings over a fresh warm loaf of "Grandma's Yummy Bread" (as my son named it). So, I took her recipe and adapted it to the bread maker. I found I prefer to mix it there, then pull it out and form two loaves to bake in the oven. However, I'm not sure I've saved any money because we have been eating it like crazy. It is so irresistible when the smell fills the air and there is a hot loaf straight from the oven. We quickly devoir a loaf and the second loaf doesn't last long either. I'm sure we have all gained weight! After all, it's Grandma's Yummy Bread! We love a warm slice with butter and honey and one of my favorites is a bowl of bread and milk with raisins and honey. My kids think it looks yucky, but I was raised on it and I think it's wonderful.

There's nothing better than homemade bread! You should post the recipe on the recipe blog so I can make it! Tyler would be thrilled! :)
