My Amazing Weekend!

I've been meaning to blog this for a week now, and already the memories are starting to fade. I'll try not to go on and on, but it's all the little details that made the weekend so fabulous.

I flew to Seattle where one of my bestest friends ever picked me up from the airport and we left immediately for a condo we had secured in Port Townsend, WA.
The condo was terrific!
Room for 8 and there was just the 2 of us!

This is the view from one of our balconies!

Friday we spent in Victoria, a 90 minute ferry ride from Port Angeles. We enjoyed a walk through their Parliament building before enjoying lunch and catching our bus to the Butchart Gardens. They were amazing, filled with tulips and forget-me-nots.

Arriving back in Port Angeles, we knew we needed to find dinner. I suggested that we find the restaurant that Bella and Edward (from the Twilight book) ate at. We were planning on finding some of the Twilight sights the next day, but this was perfect. Not knowing where to start looking, Christine called her husband who accommodated the giggling girls with the necessary internet search and provided an address. We enjoyed a great manicotti dinner at Bella Italia. Although we felt a bit silly, it was the perfect set up for the next day. We spotted a store across the street, Dazzled by Twilight, that we knew we would be stopping at the next morning.

After enjoying breakfast on the balcony, we packed up, checked out and headed back to Port Angeles. Dazzled by Twilight was a great stop. The owner and staff were full of stories and enthusiasm for our day of Twilight. They encouraged us to be silly and we took some great pictures in their “meadow” with their cardboard cutout of Edward.

This stop put us in the best mood for a day full of fun and adventure. We laughed, we giggled, we acted like teenagers. We explored La Push and then headed for Forks, Bella and Edward’s hometown. We went to the police station, the hospital, the high school and the Forks Dazzled by Twilight store. We wrapped up our visit to Forks with a stop at the visitor’s center and pictures with Bella’s truck.

We continued our route around the Olympic Peninsula, stopping whenever we found a reason to. We stopped to see the Big Red Cedar Tree, Beach #1, Beach #2, Beach #3, etc. It was such a fun day! We made it to Tacoma about 9:15pm and met a mission companion of mine and her mother for desert at Applebees. She hadn’t read Twilight, so we made a quick stop at the Cheap Books store and picked her up a second hand paperback copy. It had to be done :) We said goodbye about 10:25pm and then we hurried over to the movie theater and caught the last showing of “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past”. It wasn’t a great show, but it was one of those fun, spontaneous things you can do when you are enjoying girl time! We arrived home about 12:30pm.

Sunday we found time to download all the pictures we had taken and select our favorites to upload to Costco photos for sharing and putting together an online scrapbook. We finished off the day by borrowing a friend’s copy of the Twilight DVD and watching it with my friend's husband, who hadn’t seen it before.
It had to be done :)

We had such a fabulous time! We made the most of every minute. How great it was to just be girlfriends. Our condo was great and the location was fabulous. The weather was perfect! Victoria was amazing and our trek around the Olympic Peninsula was a day of pure indulgence! Our hubbys survived and are happy we are home. What a treasure to have such a wonderful friend!
