Associate Degree - Check

I am a list maker. I enjoy the satisfaction of checking things off when they are completed. Today I am checking off part of my schooling. Yes, after coming back to school, just one class at a time, I am now finally done with an Associate of Science degree. I realize that it's only half way to where I hope to be someday, but it's progress and it's satisfying. I understand that kids today can have their associate when they finish high school if they work hard. That wasn't available when I was in high school. However, I've been able to use classes I took that year I spent at BYU right out of high school, and that was a huge blessing. I was also able to pass the BYU Spanish test and received 12 credits of Spanish, bonus. It took another three years of one class a semester, but now I'm done with generals and on my way. I'm now at a crossroads of deciding where to go from here. I'm looking forward to a degree in Communications, someday. My goal was to finish by the time my son finishes high school. He's just finishing the 4th grade. I won't make it if I only take one class a semester, but when the kids are both on a traditional school schedule I should be able to take more classes at a time. Until then, I'll keep making lists and checking things off. I've loved every class I've taken, even if I wasn't thrilled with the teacher, the subjects have all been fascinating, challenging, and rewarding. I know I didn't appreciate it this much before. So, although I wish I had done it sooner, I love doing it now!
