We've added a few additions to our family. For my husband's birthday we bought him 4 baby chicks, hens that will be laying eggs in about 12 weeks. I started building him a chicken coop with my dad's experience and labor :) I try to be as helpful as I can, which isn't as much as I was hoping :) It isn't finished, but we figure we've got a few weeks before they can be outside all the time. Right now they live in a box in our garage with a light to keep them warm. They are about 5 1/2 weeks old, and are growing quickly. We are anxious to move them outside. Our daughter has been great about cleaning out their box every other day or so and making sure they stay fed and watered.
Our son keeps asking for a dog, but I'm not sure I'm ready
for that one yet. Maybe never.
